We are glad your scholar decided to join the Heritage Academy Trap and Skeet Club and we welcome you and your family to the club. Like you, we have high expectations of your scholar and appreciate your commitment in helping them develop and hone their personal character and their shooting skills.
This Parent Onboarding guide was created to help you get connected to the club and provide you with the information you need to support your scholar.
Get Connected
The club uses a few different communication channels to keep scholars, parents and club supporters informed about club events and activities including the practice schedule, the competition schedule, fundraising activities, and more. Follow the instructions below to get connected to the club.
Team Reach App
Priority: High
Time: 3 to 5 minutes
Prerequisites: None.
Requirement: Computer or smartphone with Internet access
Summary
Heritage Academy uses Teach Reach to communicate directly with scholars and parents and to share important information like the club practice and competition schedules. Follow the steps below to create a Teach Reach account and join the Heritage Academy Trap and Skeet Club group.
Instructions
If you already have a Teach Reach account, skip to step 3, otherwise continue to step 2.
Download the Team Reach app on your smartphone.
Under Group Code type "50straight".
Social Media
Priority: Medium
Time: 3 to 5 minutes
Prerequisites: Facebook, Instagram and YouTube Accounts
Requirement: Computer or smartphone with Internet access
Summary
One way you can support the club is by liking, following, and subscribing to the various Social Media accounts managed by the club. The social media communication channels are available to a wide audience including extended family members and friends interested in club activities.
Instructions
You can find Social Media icons at the bottom of each page of the website. Click the icon to be redirected to the respective club sponsored social media where you can join, like, subscribe, or follow us.
Give Guidance
Priority: High
Time: 3 to 4 hours online and 1 to 2 hours at the range per scholar
Summary
Your scholar has been given a list of tasks that must be completed as part of the Athlete Onboarding process. You can find the complete list by clicking Onboarding > For Athletes from the main menu. Please review the process with your scholar and support them in completing each of the steps as quickly as possible. The sooner they finish onboarding, the sooner they can begin participating in club events and activities at the shooting range.
Get Compliant
Priority: High
Time: 30 to 60 minutes
Summary
All Parents or Legal Guardians should review the Club Handbook and must provide a member of the coaching staff or board of directors with a signed copy of the Handbook Acknowledgement and Waiver prior to the first range event.
Instructions
Print and sign the Handbook Acknowledgement Form in the Club Handbook.
Print and sign the Waiver Form in the Club Handbook.
Submit both forms to a member of the Coaching staff or Board of Directors.
Get Involved
Priority: High
Time: We are grateful for as much time as you are willing to give.
Summary
The club is operated by volunteer boosters, board members, coaches, and the support of Heritage Academy faculty and administration. We need your help. There are plenty of opportunities to support the club and your scholar with no experience required including, but not limited to:

Get Educated
One of the best ways to support your scholar and the coaching staff is to learn more about the club, the league, and high school shooting sports. You'll find answers to many of your questions in the FAQ section of the club website and the USA Clay Target website. The club has a YouTube channel where you can find videos and playlists to help you learn more about clay shooting sports. If you are having trouble finding answers to your questions, use the Team Reach app to contact a member of the coaching staff who are always ready and willing to help.
